Fatin
Terima kasih, keluarga produksi telemovie 'Fatin', terutama penulis skripnya Nazri Vovinski Annuar kerana mencipta seorang watak yang dilahirkan tanpa satu organ: Uterus.
Vovin kata ia diinspirasi dari keadaan saya, bertujuan untuk mencetus kesedaran tentang wujudnya kondisi ini. (THANK YOU, VOVIN.)
It's a lifetime test. Kami penghidap sindrom MRKH, terima pelbagai jenis reaksi sepanjang hidup kami dari kenalan mahupun keluarga.
"Mana boleh takda rahim. Tak check betul tu."
"Nampak ok ja. Jangan exaggerate lah. Bukan terminal illness pun kan."
"Untungnya takda period. Tak sakit apa langsung."
"Kalau tak boleh make love, takda nafsulah dak. No point."
"Good luck in finding a partner. Mula-mula memanglah ok."
"But you're not a real mom. You didn't give birth."
"Tak complete perempuan lah ye. Tapi takda rupa maskulin pulak eh."
These comments actually took place. It may hurt but it's okay; people said those things 'cause they didn't know. Kita kena faham orang yang tak faham kita. :)
Every MRKH girl is different. Besides having no womb, some of us also have skeletal issues, or hearing problems, or one kidney, or small/single ovary, or abnormal vagina, or urinary complications, or messed up hormones. Abdominal pain? Sometimes every morning, much like breakfast.
MRKH Syndrome is not as rare as you may think it is. It happens to 1 in every 4,500-5,000 women all around the world.
On behalf of MRKH Malaysia, a support group we founded in 2014 which now has 13-15 members, I'd like to say thank you, for raising the awareness even just through a few minutes of the telemovie. Nampak macam benda kecil (watak sampingan, bukan watak utama), tapi pada kami besar maknanya. Kemain seronok bercampur sebak deme tengok tv.
"Eh, watak ni macam kitalah!!!"
:'D
