Itu hari di Salam FM, saya sempat sebut tentang kepentingan kesihatan mental sambil kami berbual mengenai sindrom MRKH. Fizikal kita pun tak mungkinlah boleh sihat sentiasa, kan? Kadang ada sakit pening, ada batuk demam. Dan biasanya kita akan ke klinik. So what makes us think that our mental state can be perfect all the time? Kalau rasa keadaan mental emosi kita kurang sihat, why not see a doctor too, the way we usually go to a clinic? ⠀ Orang kita sangat mudah melabel gila atau tak betul. Assuming the most extreme as possible. Kalau kita ke klinik atau hospital, tak ada pula orang terus kata: "Eh, kau dah nak mati ke?" Kan. Kenapa ya? Jaga badan - benda biasa. Jaga otak - benda pelik. Most of the time, belum tentu ada kaitan sangat dengan awak pun. Mental health is a personal journey and battle. Janganlah waktu dia tak berapa sihat itulah awak nak persoalkan-- "Apa salah I? I ni tak cukup ke? Tak happy dengan I ke?" Oh god. Not helping at all. Most likely it's not even about you. Ini pilihan masa yang sangat teruk untuk 'perasan' ya. Bad timing. My take: Just be there for the person in times of need, dah cun. Check on them. Tanya khabar. Remind them of your presence. Remind them to take their meds. "You nak I teman jumpa psychiatrist? Jom.
